KBl Reversebang: Posting formats

Posting starts on June 1, please read carefully to see how you should go about it:

Posting dates have been assigned. Please do not post your fic/art anywhere before your assigned date (You may post at any time on your assigned day).

• Only one person from each artist/author team should post on the lj comm (if neither author nor artist has an lj account, please email us with all your details in the format specified on the lj post and we will post to the comm on your behalf). The art and fic links should go to personal tumblrs/ljs, nothing will be posted directly to the reversebang community. Membership is open (posts will be moderated, please be patient), please only join if you’re participating. If you’re just interested in following along, feel free to watch the community.

Please go here for posting formats

• Please make sure all your links are correct, we will use your posts there to post on the reversebang tumblr as well.

• We would like people to visit the kbl_reversebang comm or tumblr so that everyone’s work can be seen together, so please try to include a link to the community when making your personal posts.

Please go here if any of this is unclear, or you have other questions/concerns that we have not addressed. We’re looking forward to a whole bunch of amazing fic and art in the coming days \o/ Good luck everyone!

Please note:

  • Two fic/art combinations will post per day (none on Saturdays).
  • You may post at any time on your assigned date. If you have a scheduling conflict and are unable to post on your assigned day, please create the post ahead of time and schedule it to be on your posting day. See here for more details
  • We will put up posting formats on the comm before June 1, please check back later.
  • If we left anyone out, please let us know asap.
  • We do not need any fic/art mailed to us. Your links should just be posted to the LJ comm in the format we require, the fic/art may be on lj/tumblr or both.
  • Questions? Please ask them in the comments on the post linked below.

Hi lovely participants!
Posting begins on June 1, I hope you’re all going strong on your fics (or at least know where to start when you do :P). Let us know if you’d like a post for cheerleading purposes where you can post small (very small!) snippets of your work and/or talk about your progress.

Pinch hitters
We’re doing well so far and still have a few pinch-hitters in the reserves, but as posting time nears, we might need more, so if you feel like you can write a 6K fic in a bit of a hurry, please go here to the Pinch-hitters sign-up post. Current authors (if you feel like you can take on a second fic), artists who also write, and people who didn’t sign up before, everyone’s welcome to sign up. Thank you for considering it!

Dropping out
We want all of you lovely authors to be able to write what you signed up for, but sometimes life gets in the way. If you know for certain that you won’t be able to finish your fic, please email us and let us know sooner rather than later so that we can assign a pinch-hitter to the artwork. We do hope to see all of you at the finish line though.

Posting Dates
Slightly related to the point above, if you have any hard and fast “cannot post” dates, this post is where you should let us know about it. Posting will start on the 1st of June and we’ll be posting two fic+art combinations each day till we reach the end (for a little more than a month). You may request an early or late date (all pinch-hitters are being given later dates) or let us know which days you absolutely cannot post, and we will try to accommodate you as much as possible. Please note though that not everyone can be assigned a later date and this is only for people who have completely unavoidable prior engagements, and request accordingly.

Questions about any of this? Please ask them here so others can take a look too.

Apr 4

Claims closing soon

Please note, claims will be closing at the end of the day (April 4) today. If you signed up for the challenge but have not yet claimed any art, you have till the end of the day to do so. Claims will be closed for business afterwards, since we need to start sending out match-up emails soon.

Authors: The art preview emails have been sent out, if you don’t see them soon, please check your spam filters or let us know. Please do not ask any questions about specific artwork on any public posts (email us if there are any linking issues), but feel free to ask questions about the claiming process or general stuff on this post.

Reminder: Art claims will start at 3pm EST tomorrow, April 1 (we promise there aren’t going to be any practical jokes played on you) on the lj comm. Keep an eye out for the post!

Thank you to everyone who’s turned in their work already! If you haven’t, please go here for submission info. Any time on the 28th of March is fine :)

Multiple submissions are welcome. If you’ve already turned in a piece but wish to do more, please feel free to do so (3 per person max.), we’d love the artist:author imbalance to be as low as possible.

Authors: If you haven’t checked in already, please check your email and go to the  Author list and check-in post. We will be emailing out the list for claims so it’s extremely important that you make sure everything’s fine there. Claiming details for April 1 will go up on the comm tomorrow.

KBl Reversebang Artists: artwork posting rules

An email has gone out to this effect already, but please note, reversebang artwork cannot be posted anywhere else before the specified posting date, which will be decided after author claims. Posting your artwork before claims defeats the purpose of blind claims and makes it extremely unfair for the authors as both artwork and fic are meant to be posted together as part of the challenge.

Please delete any posts you might have made and refrain from sharing them if you were thinking of doing so. Thank you for your cooperation.

Artists: Art submission info

All artworks are due by March 28.

For details on what to include in your submission email, please click here.

  • Please note, all artwork must be complete, or close to being complete. Really rough drafts are not acceptable since authors can’t work from those and we want them to be as close to ready as possible. However, you will have time later to polish everything up.
  • Multiple submissions are very welcome since we have an artist/author imbalance. If you are submitting multiple pieces, please include the number in your email subject. There is a limit of 3 pieces that can be submitted per artist.
  • The deadline for your submission is March 28. As long as it’s March 28 wherever you are when you send it, you’re on time. Please don’t wait until the last minute to turn your stuff in or figure out how to get it from you to us. If you have any special concerns, please let us know.
  • Please do NOT put a signature on your work since we will have blind claims.
  • We will also email this information to all artists in case some participants are not watching this comm or the tumblr. Our apologies if it’s a repeat for you.

Again, we need to receive it by March 28, but please begin turning stuff in at any time! And if you’re still stuck, don’t worry, there’s time, and a prompts post if you need some inspiration.

Finally, if you need to talk about your progress, just want to share your thoughts, or, of course, have any questions, feel free to comment on this post at the comm. We hope you’re as excited as we are!

We have an amazing turnout of 66 artists!

• Please reply to this post on LJ with the username you signed up with so that we know you got the email (subject line should be left blank). This is a check-in post to make sure we have the correct active email addresses for all the artists (and for you to see that your name is correctly listed). If, after a few days, there’s still someone missing, we will follow up via email/PM/ask to make sure that we didn’t get the email address wrong. This is really important since everyone’s split up between LJ and tumblr, so the best way to ensure everyone is up to date is via email.

• Since I was unclear on the FAQ post, you are free (and indeed encouraged) to make more than one piece for your art submission(s). We’ll cap it at 3 per person, but since there are more authors than artists, we’d love to see multiple submissions from you if time permits.

• Please note, submissions must either be complete or close to being complete since we can’t get pinch-hitters for the artwork given the structure of this challenge. Really rough drafts won’t be enough for authors to work from after initial claims.

• For all you lovely over-achievers, if you’re already raring to submit, please hold on for a bit while we work up a submission format. For all the rest of you lovely people working at a more regular pace, have any questions or concerns? Email us or comment on the FAQ post on LJ or the Artist check-in post linked above.
